BME Diabetes Accredited Course - 15th October 2015 - reserve now!!

The programme focuses on diabetes in BME and socially deprived groups; the aim of the course is to address health inequalities and improve clinical outcomes for people with diabetes from these groups.

CPD


The course has been accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGPs), Royal College of Nurses (RCN), Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) and is being delivered in partnership with the South Asian Health Foundation (SAHF). The course is suitable for CPD and is eligible for the equivalent of 5 CPD points (RCN), 5 hours of CPD (RCGP), or an ‘entry’ into the CPD record (General Pharmaceutical Council).
 

Programme


The course will be delivered by key leaders in the field of diabetes, through plenary sessions and interactive workshops.
 
Topics include:
  •  Epidemiology & risk factors in BME patients
  • Understanding culture and learning cultural competence
  • How to deliver better prevention, treatment, and management of diabetes within a multidisciplinary setting
  •  Promoting self-management and adherence
  • Implementing evidence-based practice through cost-effective strategies, according to national and local guidelines
 

Target Audience

You should attend if you are a healthcare professional (HCP) involved in the care of people with diabetes, especially in primary care.

Promotional materials will be available at the meeting. This course has been fully funded by Janssen. This course has been developed by a steering group of healthcare professionals. This course is being delivered in partnership with the South Asian Health Foundation (SAHF). Once registered, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire before and after attending to assess the effectiveness of the course.
