The NHS Diabetes Safety programme is responding to gaps in knowledge with a suite of e-learning modules in order to up skill healthcare professionals, managers and commissioners in order to change behaviours and protect patients from avoidable harm.
Deliver insulin training across the NHS and other care sectors
The National Safe use of Insulin module has now acheived 100, 000 registrations with 70% of Healthcare professionals completing the assessment (see below)
This is very much a University Hospitals of Leicester product Lead by June James Nurse Consultant, Dr Gregory Diabetologist (head of service) and Helen Atkins Diabetes Specialist Nurse and it something we are very proud of.
This week we also had agreement that the module would be seen as essential for practice to all nurses and pharmacy staff in the acute division along with the insulin intravenous infusion module. Download the Summary of the work by clicking here
