Consultant led diabetes outreach clinics currently run across Leicestershire. These clinics provide services to screen for diabetic complications, plan interventions and treatment and to provide education and support to people with diabetes in effective diabetes management to prevent complications. Taking our expert diabetes service and working in conjunction with the community and local services.
Most children at diagnosis are referred to Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI) - Admissions Unit for assessment and to initiate their individual “Care Package”.
Regular Reviews are then arranged for each child/young person in an out-patient (clinic) venue. Most children/young adults require 2-3 monthly appointments. These can be made at the most convenient clinic for the child and his/her family.

1st Tuesday afternoon of every second month (Feb, April, June, Aug, Oct & Dec)

Appointments are made centrally through the Leicester Royal Infirmary. However appointments for existing patients can be cancelled arranged or re-arranged by contacting the clinic co-ordinator directly at the community hospital.
